Lawtell - A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lee Anna Kidder on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA. Reverend Ted Broussard will conduct the Mass. Rite of Committal and burial will follow in the St. Bridget Church Cemetery.
Lee Anna, was born a native of Bristol, La. and resident of Opelousas, La. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Lee Anna worked for Marcann Outdoor Advertising for many years. She was also a part of the Red hat society for several years. On quiet days, Lee Anna would enjoy crafting, especially crocheting and sewing. She also liked working in her garden, but still enjoyed a day of shopping. Lee Anna loved cooking and spending Sundays with her family and grandchildren. She was loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by son, Clyde Joseph Fontenot (Kay); her daughters, Brenda Joubert (Dalton), Dianne Wright (Paul) and Mona McRae (Kevin); her stepsons, John Kidder (Pat), Ronald “Red” Kidder, Glenn Kidder (Jenni); her stepdaughter, Cheryl Hedrick (Darrell) and her sisters-in-law, Ora Mae Miller and Sharon Miller. She is also survived by four grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and fourteen step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilfred Joseph Fontenot; her second husband, Melvin Kidder; her parents, John Miller, Jr. and Ella Savoie Miller; her step-son, Gerald Kidder; her brothers, Joseph Miller, Horace Miller, Lloyd Miller, George Miller, Roosevelt “Roos” Miller and Francis “Thib” Miller; her sisters, Irene Doucet and Anna Fontenot; her sisters-in-law, Margaret Miller, Ida Miller, Hilda Miller, Betty Miller and Jeanette Miller; her brothers-in law, Raymond Doucet and Curliss Fontenot and her beloved dog, Angel.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Fontenot, Blake Fontenot, Paul Wright, Kevin McRae, Glenn Kidder and Darrell Hedrick. Honorary pallbearers are Dalton Joubert, John Kidder and Ronald "Red" Kidder.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 6, 2023 beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Homeof Opelousas. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation and thank you to her caretakers, Carlene Soileau, Mary Melancon, Patty Pitre, and her niece, Donna Fontenot, as well as her nurse, Karen Stelly and the rest of the Community Hospice staff.
