Lena Olivier

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 for Lena LeDoux Olivier at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Father Gregory Simien will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m.

Lena LeDoux Olivier, age 85 and a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Heritage Manor in Opelousas.

Lena worked at Howard Brothers and Gibson's for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, cake decorating and spending time with her family. Lena was also a longtime caregiver. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Dale Olivier and companion, Laura Burleigh of Port Barre; daughter, Cheryl Olivier of Opelousas; sister, Melda L. Laster of Scott; grandchildren, Shelby (Jamin), Michelle (Richie), Shane (Sarah) and Colby (Yalonda); step-grandchildren, Nicole (Blake) and Owen (Liddy); 6 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and godchild, Corey Laster.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gelton Olivier; parents, Clifford "Beb" LeDoux and Lillian Deville LeDoux; daughter, Trisha Lynn Olivier Benoit; sister, Roma LeDoux; and brothers-in-law, Bill Wyble and Pat Laster.

Pallbearers will be Dale Olivier, Colby Marks, Jamin Artigue, Ronnie LeDoux, Glenn LeDoux and Corey Laster.
