Leo Clavier, Sr.

Opelousas Funeral services for Leo Clavier, Sr., age 87, will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eunice, La. Father Paul Bienvenu will conduct the services.

Mr. Clavier, a resident of Opelousas passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Cest La Vie Apartments in Opelousas.

Mr. Clavier was a lifetime member of the VFW, Disabled American Vets, past member of the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Knights of Columbus and was a past American Legion member.

He is survived by his wife, Nola Dugas Clavier of Opelousas, La.; his sons, Leo Clavier, Jr. and wife, Bonnie, of Brandon, Mississippi; Willie Clavier of Lafayette, La.; Dale Clavier and wife, Dee, of Baton Rouge, La.; Leonard Clavier and wife, Eva, of Opelousas, La.; his daughters, Eileen Clavier Hollingsworth and husband, Tim, of Zachary, La.; Arleen Clavier Doucet and husband, Kenneth, of Opelousas, La.; his brothers, Felix Claiver, Jr.; Kermit Clavier; Dewey Clavier; Berlin Clavier and his sister, Thelma Lavergne. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Theophine Clavier and his sisters, Freda Miller and Genevieve Attsenhoffer.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. all night until time of service on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.
