Lizie Brown

Private Graveside Funeral Services will be held for Liz Brown at Bellevue Memorial in Opelousas and will be officiated by Bro. Greg Gaspard from Unity Baptist Church.

Lizie V. Brown, the former Liz Vidrine, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at 2:20 am, at her residence, surrounded by her family at the age of 78. She came into this world on March 3, 1942, to Kirby and Luna Vidrine. She loved being outdoors spending time at her camp while fishing, crabbing, and shrimping. She also enjoyed watching football especially the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. She was a wonderful, godly woman, filled with much love for her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Wilbert Brown of Prairie Ronde; two sons, Keith Brown and his wife, Jamie of Opelousas; and Danny Brown and wife, Teresa of Great Falls, Montana; and one daughter, Sharon Soileau of Opelousas; seven grandchildren, Justin Brown and wife Michelle, Kylie Brown, Samantha Brown, Hunter Soileau, Bailey Soileau, Teryn Brown, and Garrett Brown, and two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Brown and Benjamin Brown. She was also survived by one brother, Perry Vidrine and wife, Jane of Eunice; one sister, Rita Hargrove and husband, Don of Moss Bluff; and a special child who was like a daughter, Jana Marshall in Staunton, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kirby and Luna Vidrine, one sister, Novella Fontenot and husband Julius, and in-laws Elton and Mercedes Brown.

The family will be having a public visitation and Memorial Service at a later date.
