Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. The Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lois Ledoux Robert, age 86 and a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Robert was a member of Our Lady of Mercy's Altar Society and Rosary Group. She was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Angel's Rosary Group. Mrs. Robert enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques. She also enjoyed sewing for her girls. Mrs. Robert will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, William R. Robert, Sr. of Opelousas; son, William "Bob White" R. Robert, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Sheila Robert of Lafayette, Vickie Robert Stevens and husband, Kenny of Carencro and Kim Robert Chelette and husband, Kenny of Opelousas; son-in-law, Keith Richard and wife, Linda; daughter-in-law, Pam R. Baylin; brother, Dwight Ledoux of Opelousas; sisters, Maxine Herrera of Lafayette, Dena Ryder of Opelousas, Lana Hebert of Breaux Bridge and Lynn Dalier of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Rachel Voitier, K.C. Chelette, Erin Stout, Lauren Richard, Adam Richard, Meredith Richard, Bradi Newman, Brie Parrott and Brantley Robert; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou Anna and Philip Ledoux; daughter, Jan R. Richard; brother, Darrell Ledoux; and sister, Betty Stansbury.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 2:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Chelette, Kenny Stevens, Keith Richard, Dwight Ledoux, Adam Richard and Larry Ryder. Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Bono, Bruce Dalier, Roland Hebert and David "Huggie" Voitier.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Hansberry Adult Daycare and Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home and also, Virginia Lee for their loving compassion and care they provided.
