Louise Fontenot Soileau, 86, a cherished resident of Palmetto, Louisiana, passed away on April 25, 2025. Louise was known for her natural humor, warm presence, and love of socializing, which made her truly unforgettable.
Her wicked sense of humor—was unmistakable and shared with anyone within earshot of her famously prompt 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM phone calls, which were as punctual as they were brimming with laughter and sharp wit. A proud and active member of the Palmetto community, Louise dedicated herself to improving the lives of those around her. Her exceptional commitment to service earned her the prestigious "Volunteer Award for the State of Louisiana," a reflection of the profound impact she made within her small community. Louise and her beloved husband, John E. Soileau, shared a passion for dancing that brought them immense joy and strengthened their bond. They were often filmed dancing at the Famous Liberty Theater every Saturday night, showcasing their love for music and movement while creating fond memories for all who witnessed their rhythm and spirit. She is survived by her loving family, including her daughters, Monica Boutte and Susan S. Lalonde; her son, Marion J. Soileau; her grandchildren, Nick Lalonde, Lauren D'Augereaux, Timothy Lalonde, Brennan Soileau, Nicholas Soileau, Christopher Lalonde, Matt Boutte, and Maggie Soileau; as well and 15 great-grandchildren. Each of them carries forward Louise’s legacy of humor, kindness, and love in their own unique ways. Private Services were held on May 1st, 2025
May she rest in Peace
