Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 for Mrs. Lucretia Darbonne Thibodeaux at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. The Rev. Monsignor Keith DeRouen will officiate the services. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.

Mrs. Thibodeaux, age 91, a resident of Port Allen and a former resident of Opelousas, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Pointe Coupee Healthcare.

Mrs. Thibodeaux was an accomplished seamstress and a wonderful Cajun cook. She was a proud ribbon winner of the Yambilee Cooking Contest. Mrs. Thibodeaux will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Simoneaux and her husband, Whitney; grandchildren, Leah Courville (Clem), Darryn Doucet (Dawn), Bryan Doucet (Kim) and Lana Kean (Shawn); great-grandchildren, Aubrey Courville, Kaz Kean, Danyelle Arceneaux, Allison Gravois, Drew Doucet, Dylan Doucet, Brooke Kean, Abigail Courville, Trevor Kean, Evan Doucet, Bryce Kean and Taylor Doucet; and great-great-granddaughter, Claudia Arceneaux. She is also survived by the loving Thibodeaux Family, Luke Thibodeaux, Jr., Lee Anne Dalton (Ben), Harran Thibodeaux (Vera), Robert Thibodeaux (Helen), Darold Thibodeaux (Ethel), Davis Thibodeaux (Becky), Anna Janise (Hammie), Dorothy Thibodeaux, James Thibodeaux (Arlene), Joseph Thibodeaux (Gayle), Anthony Thibodeaux (Jackie), Rose Duplechain, Della Thibodeaux, Priscilla Thibodeaux, Enola Thibodeaux and John Bertrand; 39 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luke Thibodeaux, Sr.; parents, Ezeb Darbonne, Sr. and Beatrice LeDoux Darbonne; foster parents, Numa and Mathilde Lavergne; brothers, Anthony, Ezeb, Jr., Jack, Joe and Harrison Darbonne; sisters, Mathilde Darbonne, Leona Thibodeaux, Willie May Pelafigue, Donna Darbonne and Sue Grimmett; step-children, Myrtline Thibodeaux and Theresa Bertrand; and her precious great-great-grandson, Liam Courville.

Pallbearers will be Darryn Doucet, Bryan Doucet, Clem Courville, Garnet Grimmett, Wade Thibodeaux and Aubrey Courville. Honorary Pallbearer will be Shawn Kean.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of the Lake Children Hospital in memory of Liam Courville.
