Lafayette-It is with great sadness that the family of Melissa Dawn Beaugh announce her passing on Monday, April 3, 2023, in Lafayette, LA, at the age of 41.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Veterans of Foreign War Post 2483 Hall, 123 N. Liberty Street, Opelousas, LA 70570. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Melissa was born in Opelousas, Louisiana, and was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, for many years. She was a mental health facilitator for LARC where she was able to share her compassion and helpfulness with others. She had a talent for painting and enjoyed photography as a pastime. She was a friendly, loving, and giving person with a heart of gold to serve others. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her parents, Michael Beaugh and Beth Manuel Beaugh of Arnaudville; one brother, Benjamin Beaugh and wife, Jennifer of Carencro; two nephews, Keigan Beaugh and fiancé, Jess Dabrue of Lafayette; and Kamren Beaugh of Carencro; and her best friend, Kenneth Franklin of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, J. Y. Manuel and Kate McCarthy Manuel; paternal grandparents, James Beaugh and Jean Sonnier Marler; and uncle, Johnny Manuel.
