Michael Ray Satterley, known to many as "Mike", passed away on September 9, 2023, at the Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born on August 5, 1964, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and was a longtime resident of Melville, Louisiana.
Mike had a long and fulfilling career as a fisherman and was skilled in building catfish nets. He dedicated his life to the pursuit of his profession and enjoyed the open waters. An outdoorsman at heart, Mike found joy in being surrounded by nature. He spent countless hours hunting and fishing while enjoying the great outdoors. Additionally, he nurtured a flock of chickens and roosters, tending to them with care and dedication. Outside of work, Mike had a warm and inviting personality. He had a passion for cooking and enjoyed creating delicious meals for his family and friends. As a pastime, Mike would enjoy listening to classic rock and roll music and watching football on television and cheering for his favorite teams.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray Satterley; his stepfather, Grover Warren; and one son.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Duplechain Satterley Warren of Scott; sister, Charlotte Satterley Harrington of Melville; nephew, Michael Ray Satterley of Melville; great-niece, Makensey Lynn Satterley of Melville; as well as a host of adoring aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
