Obituary

Micheal Disotell, born January 7, 1967, in Morgan City, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual whose life was deeply rooted in family, faith, and his many passions.

Funeral services for Micheal will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 4, 2026, in the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Pastor Henry Wallace will officiate the services and Brother Deon Boudreaux will deliver the message. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Krotz Springs. Pallbearers will be Roy Harrington, Jr., Darrin Johnson, Jr., Ryan Paul Disotell, Alden Casse, Jerry Disotell and Kenneth Ortego. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Disotell and Devin Duplissey.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs, LA. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Micheal spent many years working as an HVAC technician, a profession in which he showed unwavering commitment and dedication. He was known for his strong work ethic, always taking pride in doing the best job possible in whatever task he undertook. Beyond his career, Micheal’s heart was fullest when surrounded by his loved ones. He cherished spending time with his children and family, creating memories that will forever be held dear.

Micheal’s interests were varied and reflected his vibrant personality. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, playing his guitar, and cooking meals. You could find Micheal working on his truck or other projects. He also found enjoyment watching the television show "Forensic Files," which provided him with intriguing insight into the world of true crime investigation.

His faith was a significant part of his life; he attended Melville Pentecostal Church, where he nurtured his spiritual growth and connection to his community.

Micheal will be remembered by his fiancé, Lazelle Roy of Melville, LA; his sons, Micheal George Disotell and Ryan Paul Disotell, both residing in Lagrangeville, NY; brothers, Jerry Disotell and wife, Cheryl of Melville, LA; and Ivory Disotell and wife, Lori of Krotz Springs, LA; sisters, Rosalinda Lodrigue and husband, Joey; and Julie Harrington and husband, Roy, all of Melville, LA; sisters-in-law, Georgie Disotell of Krotz Springs, LA; and Dixie Buchtel of Evergreen, LA; and his grandchild, Skyler Jacob Disotell, along with Lazelle’s grandchildren who were like his own grandchildren: Jakob Simoneaux, Jaython Simoneaux, Jeremiah Simoneaux, Owen Clark, Anna Clark, Ava Clark, Kaily Stutsman; and great-grandson, Jackson Cole Simoneaux. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family.

Micheal was preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah Disotell and Leona Fae Belvins Disotell; and his brother, Kenry Disotell.

Throughout his life, Micheal Disotell exemplified the virtues of hard work, family devotion, and faith. His dedication and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him. He will be missed by his family, friends, and community.
