Odes Stelly

Funeral services for Mrs. Odes Marie Leger Stelly were held Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 11:00AM with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery 2, on Highway 35 in Church Point. The Rev. Jeff DeBlanc will conduct the services.

Mrs. Stelly, age 88, was a resident of Opelousas, died at her residence, Thursday.

She is survived by her sons; Gene Stelly and his wife Mildred of Opelousas, George Stelly and his wife Florence also of Opelousas and Michael Stelly and his wife Stephanie of Lawtell, a daughter; Juanita Fontenot and her husband Michael of Opelousas, brothers; Jerry Leger of Opelousas and Avetan Leger of Church Point. She is also survived by 19 grand-children and 20 Great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 step Great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Cowboy Stelly a son Carroll Stelly and 4 brothers.

Visitation was observed on Friday, February 9, from 1:00PM to 10:00PM and continued on Saturday from 8:00AM till the time of service. A Rosary was recited at 7:00PM on Friday.
