Priscilla Terrell

Melville - Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 for Priscilla Sylvester Terrell at St. John Catholic Church in Melville. The Reverend Father Stephen Ugwu will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. John Catholic Cemetery.

Priscilla Sylvester Terrell, age 87 and a resident of Melville, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at her residence.

Priscilla was a devout Catholic and member of St. John Catholic Church in Melville. She loved quilting, gardening and canning. Priscilla enjoyed traveling with her special friend, Velma. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Charles E. Terrell (Charmon Cormier) and Dave John Terrell, III (Lisa); daughters, Ella Guidry (Jimmy), Paula Terrell Montgomery (Jeff) and Libby Nichols (Mark); brother, Roland Sylvester; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Dave Terrell, Jr.; parents, Linton Douglas Sylvester and Isola Soileau Sylvester; grandchildren, Webster "Web" Reed, Jonathan Reed and Lil Mark Nichols; great-granddaughter, Ava Claire LaGrone; sisters, Helen S. Jeansonne, Lorella S. Fontenot and Vera Mae "Tiny" Hawthorne; and brothers, Charles Lewis Sylvester and Linton Sylvester, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m.
