Renee Bourque Martin

Renee Bourque Martin, age 55, of Raleigh, NC, was called home to the Lord on Friday, May 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous journey with ALS.

A native of Lewisburg, LA, Renee dedicated nearly 20 years of service to Walmart before embracing her most cherished role as a full-time homemaker. Her life was one of quiet faith, enduring love, and generous spirit—qualities she shared freely with all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Jimmy “Joey” Martin, Jr.; her children, Jimmy “Trey” Martin III, Ryan Matthew Martin, Megan Michaela-Martin Fruge and her husband Tyler; and her precious grandson, Braydon Fruge.

Renee now rests in the loving arms of her Savior, reunited with her parents, Bernadine Fuselier Bourque and Jean “Johnny” Louis Bourque; and her sister, Jennifer Faye Bourque.

Visitation will be held in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, May 19, 2025 from 10:00am until 1:00pm. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Dwayne Joubert at 1:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Landry Catholic Church at 2:00 pm with Father Mark Ledoux officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

The Martin family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate caregivers at Duke Hospice and the Hospice Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC, for their unwavering kindness and dignity in Renee’s final days.

As we mourn Renee’s passing, we also rejoice in the promise of her eternal life—fully healed, wrapped in divine light, and surrounded by everlasting peace.
