Roland Vigie

Palmetto – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roland Ray Vigie on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Opelousas General Health System at the age of 73.

A Private graveside service was held in the Bayou Rouge Pentecostal Church Cemetery with Rev. Bob Fruen officiating the services.

Roland was a native of Morrow, LA, and was a resident of Palmetto, LA, for many years.  He retired from the construction industry after working many years as a frame worker. He was a past member of First Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors working in his garden, cutting his grass, and fishing. He also cared for his dog, Pee Wee.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Caroline Falvey Vigie of Palmetto; his son, William Carey Vigie of Palmetto; his sister, Mary Jane Cook of Busche; and two grandchildren, Jessica Vigie and Micaela Vigie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Joseph Vigie and Oline Schexnayder Vigie; his daughter, Nikkie Renee Vigie; and one sister, Merlyine Giovingo.
