Romaine P. Venable

Funeral services for Romaine P. Venable will be Monday October 2, 2006 at 12Noon in St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell with burial to take place in the St. Bridget Mausoleum. Reverend Daniel Picard will conduct the services.

A native of Lawtell, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, she met her God on Saturday September 30, 2006 at the age of 84. She was a charter member of the St. Bridget CDA Court and a Jr. Catholic Daughter troop leader for eight years. She received a medal and badge from Pope Paul II for her work. She taught school at ABW for five years. She was a remarkable woman who loved to crochet and to cook. Romaine was always there if someone needed a helping hand, a very generous and loving person. Two sons, Ronald Venable and his wife Janell of Lafayette and E.J. Venable and his wife Laura of Luling, a daughter, Dianne Collins and special friend, Ron of Baton Rouge and two brothers, Gene Prudhomme of Lawtell and Terry Prudhomme of Lafayette, survive her. Her five grandchildren are Angie Redrick of Lafayette, Edgar Venable, Jr. of Berwick, Amy Cother of Carencro, Stephanie Myers of Port Barre and Emily Achee of Abita Springs. She has eight great-grandchildren, Hayley, Buck and Gabby Redrick, Brent Paul Venable, Emma Cother, Shelby Myers and Trevor and Nicholas Achee. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Her husband, Wallace Venable, a daughter, Aline Marie Venable, parents, Edgar Prudhomme and Ella Pitre Prudhomme, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, precedes her in death.

Visitation will be Monday October 2, 2006 from 8:00am until time of services.
