Ronald Gene Ardoin

Krotz Springs – Funeral services will be held for Ronald Gene Ardoin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, in the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs.  Interment will follow in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Krotz Springs.  Bro. Don Disotell will officiate the services. 
 
 Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs, Louisiana. On Friday, the visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Ronald Gene Ardoin, a beloved member of the community, passed away on April 3, 2024, in Krotz Springs, Louisiana, at the age of 81. He was born on January 2, 1943, in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was raised by Ivy Hooks and Emma Hooks which he called “Poppa” and “Momma.” He lived his life on the family property in Krotz Springs until his death. 

Ronald led a fulfilling life marked by hard work and dedication. He enjoyed a career as a pile driver before eventually retiring as a construction worker. In addition to his work in construction, Ronald also found joy and fulfillment as a commercial fisherman until his retirement.  Outside of work, Ronald had a variety of interests that brought him happiness. An avid hunter and fur trapper, he had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and nature. Ronald's green thumb was evident in the beautiful vegetable gardens he lovingly tended and nurtured over the years.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.   

He is survived by his son and caretaker, Ronnie Ardoin of Krotz Springs; stepson, Robert G. Yount II and wife, Jennifer of Hall Summit, LA; granddaughter, Kayla Ardoin; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, Robert G. Yount III, Matthew W. Yount, and Emily Yount; and one step-great-grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ardoin; his parents, Herbert Ardoin and Evelyn Hook Ardoin; his maternal grandparents, Ivy Hooks and Emma Ryder Hooks; brother, David Gray; and sister, Lana Kay Fob.
