Opelousas — Graveside Funeral services for Ruby Meche will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Rev. Fr. Clint Trahan will officiate the Rite of Committal with interment to follow.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruby Meche on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas.  She was a born in Lewisburg and was a resident of Opelousas for many years.  She was a salesclerk at Abdalla’s Department Store for many years.  Ruby will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her nephew, Dr. David Mouille of Bonner Springs, KS; her niece, Lois Mouille Lafleur of Mandeville; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great- nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adma Meche and Ada Briscoe Meche; her sister, Enola Meche Mouille; and her brother, James Joseph Meche.
