Sabrina was guided by her faith—God was always first in her life, providing the foundation for her actions and compassion toward others. This profound sense of purpose inspired her throughout her years in healthcare. Sabrina worked as an OB Nurse Practitioner for Dr. Paul Dibbs in gynecology, where she was not only a skilled clinician but also a source of comfort and guidance for countless patients. Over the course of her remarkable 18-year nursing career in labor and delivery, including her role as an antenatal nurse, Sabrina was known for her gentle presence.
Sabrina’s commitment to her profession was matched by her dedication to learning. She earned a Master's Degree as a Nurse Practitioner, demonstrating both perseverance and a relentless desire to provide the highest quality care to those she served.
Outside of her profession, Sabrina found joy and fulfillment in many ways. An avid reader, she cherished time spent with a good book in hand. Music and dance brought her happiness—she loved dancing and listening to her favorite songs. Sabrina was also a loyal hockey fan; her heart belonged to the Detroit Red Wings, a passion she enjoyed sharing with friends and family.
Of all her achievements, Sabrina was proudest of her role as a mother. Her son, August, was her everything, the center of her world and the source of immense pride and joy.
Sabrina and her mom's relationship was indescribable. They had a connection that no one could understand, either Sabrina or her mom didn't understand it as well. They both knew each other’s thoughts before any words were spoken. They thought the same and most of the time they texted the same words as the text went through. They would always joke that when they got to heaven, they would ask God why they had such a strong connection? Sabrina was her mama's angel. She was her whole world. Her mom’s love for her was endless. She always took care of her parents. She was the best daughter and one of their greatest blessings. Sabrina was her mom’s everything.
Sabrina is survived by her husband of five years, Vinson Navarro; her son, August Zachery Navarro; her parents, Gerald and Pamela Darbonne; her brother, Nicholas J. Darbonne; her Nanny, Juanita Aymond; her Paran, Gary Sonnier; her father-in-law, Vincent Navarro; her brothers-in-law, Jonathan Navarro (Lexi), Christian Navarro (Kayla) and Nicholas Navarro and her best friend, Dawn Alleman. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Helena Castille Sonnier and Paul Sonnier; her paternal grandparents, Mitchell and Mary Darbonne; her great-grandparents, John and Gertie Castille, Theophile and Esther Sonnier, Wildon and Doxille (Willingham) Darbonne and Pop Willie and Clemie Meche; her mother-in-law, Loretta Lynn Navarro and her uncle, Terry Sonnier.
Sabrina Lynn Navarro’s life touched many through her kindness, skill, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on in her family, friends, and all those whose lives she cared for with grace and devotion. Her memory will be cherished forever.
