Stella Dohmann

Lewisburg - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 for Stella Rita Harmon Dohmann at St. John Chapel in Lewisburg. The Reverend Monsignor Jeff DeBlanc will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. John Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Dohmann, age 96 and a resident of Lewisburg, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Mrs. Dohmann received the Bishop Service Medal for over 50 years of dedicated service to her church and community. She also received the Monsignor Bienvenue Medal for service to her church. Mrs. Dohmann was a devout catholic and member of her church. Her joy was serving the Lord through her church ministries. She also cherished her family, especially time spent with her many grandchildren. Mrs. Dohmann will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Jerry Dohmann, Jr. of St. Martinville, J. Kurth Dohmann, Sr. of North Carolina and Leland Dohmann of Lewisburg; daughter, Marlena A. D. Fontenot, OCDS of Ville Platte; brother, Marshden Harmon of Virgina; sister, Sheila Rita Harmon Perkey of Texas; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Jerry Dohmann, Sr.; son, Anthony Norman Dohmann; grandson, Anthony Dwayne Dohmann; great-grandson, John Kurth Dohmann, III; parents, William Childs Harmon and Mary Stella Lambert Harmon; sister, Mary Evelyn Harmon Larmoyeux and Edmee' Louise H. German; brother, William Childs Harmon, Jr. and infant brother, Joseph Harmon.

Pallbearers will be Richard Dohmann, Kurth Dohmann, Jr., Raymond Dohmann, Wade Dohmann, Gerald Davis and Timothy Davis.
