Terry Dwayne Miller, age 60, passed away on September 14, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 15, 1964, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Terry dedicated 27 years of his life to serving and protecting his community as a police officer.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, in The Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home.
Terry had a variety of interests that enriched his life outside of work. Before his retirement, he found joy in hunting and fishing. After retiring, he embraced a more leisurely lifestyle, enjoying the simple pleasures of watching television and sitting on his front porch smoking a cigarette and enjoying the outdoors. Additionally, Terry was an amateur radio operator, showcasing his passion for communication and connection.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 32 years, Janet Andrepont Miller, and their two children, Daniel Miller and Sarah Miller, all of Opelousas, Louisiana. Terry also leaves behind his sisters, Shirley Edmond (Nelson) of Opelousas, La., Judy Ventre (Karl) of Lafayette, La., and Nell Ortego of Opelousas, La.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred Miller and Joyce Bergeron Miller, as well as his brother-in-law, Bryan Ortego.
His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
