Opelousas - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 for Thelma Joubert in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home. The Reverend Monsignor Jeff DeBlanc will officiate the service. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m. by Reverend Monsignor Jeff DeBlanc.

Thelma Joubert, age 87 and a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Thelma's family meant everything to her. She always sent her guests home with a little gift. Mrs. Thelma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Ethel Hecard and Alice Verrette (Raymond Cormier); son-in-law, Leland Dohmann; grandchildren, Blair Verrette, Angela Raines, Tammy Verrette, Raymond Dohmann, Kristie Boudreaux, Wade Dohmann, Cherisse Dohmann and Kelly Cookmeyer; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Reme J. Joubert; father, Joseph Henderson; mother, Ethel Brown; daughter, Shirley Dohmann; son, Raymond Joubert; brother, Jimmy Henderson; sister, Emily Rose Guillory; great-granddaughter, Courtney Cookmeyer; sons-in-law, Dale Verrette, Warren Hecard and Jerry Falcone.
