Thomas Michael Barrois, Sr., age 70, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 22, 2025. He was born on August 25, 1955, in Buras, Louisiana.
At the family's request, services will be private.
For 42 years, Thomas worked on the water as a tugboat captain, navigating the challenges of his career with skill and tenacity. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for spending time with his family, creating lasting memories that they will cherish forever.
Thomas found joy in woodworking and spent many hours riding on his tractor. These hobbies reflected his character and his appreciation for the simpler things in life.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 51 years, Charlene Barrois, of Opelousas, La.; his son, Thomas Barrois, Jr. and wife, Heather Smith Barrois, of Opelousas, La. and his daughter, Amanda Barrois Dickson, of Gulport, MS; his sisters, Wanda Leger of Eunice, La., Linda Sue Barrois of Scott, La., and Mary Barrois of Scott, La. and his daughter-in-law, Cindhel Barrois. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ryan Dickson of Rayne, La., Chase Dickson of Hattiesburg, MS, Adrian Dickson of Gulport, MS, Tyler Dickson, Airman First Class of New Mexico, Avery Barrois of Opelousas, La., Dillon Barrois of Opelousas, La., Delton Cothern of Mississippi, Adam, Alex, August, Ayla Barrois and Travis Smith of Poplarville, MS and Brandon Smith of Poplarville, MS.
He is preceded in death by his son, Adam Barrois; his parents, Wanda Barrois and John Barrois, Jr.; his brother, John Barrois, III; and his sisters, Joy Duhon and Denise Brossett.
