Danny will be remembered as a man who enjoyed passing a good time by laughing and sharing his sense of humor. He found happiness in the simple things he loved most. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and he also enjoyed watching football and NASCAR. An avid reader, he valued time spent with a good book as much as time spent outside. He enjoyed listening to Cajun music on KBON while drinking his coffee in the morning.
He was a member of the FFA during his high school years and was a 1977 graduate of Melville High School. In his working life, Danny served as a crane operator beginning in 2000.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Debra “Debbie” Caston Jarrell; his daughters, Jessikah Leah Jarrell Simon and husband, Ryan; and Leslie Danielle Jarrell; his stepson, Nathan Marshall Blocker and wife, Jill Daniels; his stepdaughter, Shannon Reneé Blocker Ellen and his sister, Deanna Jarrell Polotzola and fiancé, Carroll Snyder. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer Simon Thibault and husband, Gabriel, Haley Simon, Julia Simon, Adam Simon, Houston Jarrell, Marleigh Jarrell, Brees Gavin, Callie Gavin, Cade Gavin, Anna Daniel, Olivia Lewis, Tyler Browning, Peyton Blocker, Talan Blocker, Bryce Holton, Timothy “T.J” Ellen, and Brooklyn Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and the mother of his children, Rebecca Pinell Parfait.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston “Bruce” Jarrell and Eva Eloise Reviere Jarrell and his sister, Eloise Darnell Maturin.
Those who knew Danny will remember a life shaped by his interests, his love for the outdoors, and the quiet pleasures that meant so much to him. His memory will be held with respect and affection by all who knew him.
