Melville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Thomas "Tommy" Gerald Lamana at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021, at St. John Catholic Church in Melville, LA.  Father Stephen Ugwu will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas "Tommy" Gerald Lamana, age 69, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Tommy enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator for 48 years.  Tommy loved being active and traveling. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, friends and co-workers.  He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Camellia Lamana; his son, Jason Lamana and wife, Shantia; his sister, Theresa Polotzola; three grandchildren, Lindsey Thomassee, Garett Lamana, Cassie Lamana and his special dog, Toby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Lamana; his son, Chuck Lamana; his brother, Joseph Gioele and his grandson, Connor Lamana.

Pallbearers will be Garett Lamana, Joby Thomassee, Ben Gioele, Denny Polotzola, Brett Clark and Benny Yander.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville.  A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.  The funeral home will reopen on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
