Timothy Paul Chapman passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Beauregard Health System in DeRidder, Louisiana. He was born on June 1, 1989, in Chatan-Cho, Okinawa, Japan.

Visitation for Timothy will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Eulogy Service will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Timothy was a 2007 graduate of Port Barre High School. He went on to build a career in technology, working for four years as an IT Communications Tech II for LUS Fiber. In that role, he monitored the city’s network for outages in Lafayette, Louisiana, contributing his skills and dedication to keeping vital communications systems running.

He will be remembered for the things that brought him joy and reflected his personality. Timothy enjoyed cooking, Anime, listening to music, going to concerts, and geocaching. He enjoyed watching Star Wars movies and collected Star Wars memorabilia. He spent time with his family watching UFC and Wrestling. These hobbies spoke to a life marked by curiosity, enjoyment, and an appreciation for both creativity and adventure. He cherished spending time with his family.

Timothy is survived by his father, Michael Chapman and wife, Michele, of DeRidder, LA; his mother, Mercelita “Merci” Hamilton of Beebe, Arkansas; his grandparents, Phil Simmons and Carolyn Schales Simmons of DeRidder, LA; his brothers, Brent D. Chapman, of Lake Charles, LA; Gabe Hamilton of Beebe, Arkansas; Ty Hill & wife, Bobbie of Dry Creek, LA; and Hunter Hill & wife, Abby of Baton Rouge, LA; and his sister, Alexis Cooley and husband, Brady of Dry Creek, LA. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kyler Cooley, Max Cooley, Amelia Hill and Evelyn Hill; his girlfriend, Shayna Leblanc and her son, Kaden Comb who was special to Timothy.

He was preceded in death by his mother’s late husband, Jeff Hamilton; his mother’s late fiancé, Roger Buttrum; his paternal grandparents, Franklin Chapman and Gloria Carroll Chapman and his maternal grandparents, Marciano Apilado and Consuelo Estepa Apilado.

Timothy Paul Chapman will be remembered with love and respect by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to those mourning his passing.
