Tracey Chevalon

Tracey James Chevalon, a devoted family man and hard worker in the oil field, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2023, at the age of 64. Born on August 16, 1959, in New Iberia, Louisiana, Tracey's life was filled with love and cherished moments with his loved ones.

Throughout his career in the oil field, Tracey dedicated himself to his work and made a significant impact in the industry. From the age of 17 until his retirement at 62, he displayed unwavering commitment and professionalism. Tracey's dedication and work ethic were widely admired by all who knew him.

Outside of work, Tracey was a man of faith and had a gentle and quiet personality. He found true happiness in spending quality time at home with his beloved family. Tracey's grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Watching TV shows and movies brought him great joy, with shows like Andy Griffith and Everybody Loves Raymond that made him laugh.

Tracey James Chevalon is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie Anderson Chevalon of Church Point; his step-sons, John Bariola of Arnaudville; and Justin Bariola of Carencro; step-daughter, Jessica Bariola Guidroz and husband, Joshua of Arnaudville; his brothers, Austin Chevalon, Jr. "Sonny" of New Iberia; and Webb Chevalon of New Iberia; his half-brother, Robin Chevalon; his sisters, Wanda Romero, Patricia Provost, Dianna Davidson, and Brenda Whitley; his half-sisters, Kathy Martin and Rose Mary Chatagnier; his step-sisters, Sarah Hebert and Barbara LeBlanc; and his grandchildren, Kielor Bariola, MaKenli Bariola, Josiah LeGros, Brielle Bariola, Myra Guidroz, Benjamin Guidroz, and Abigail Guidroz; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Bourque Chevalon; his father, Austin Joseph Chevalon, Sr. and stepmother, JoAnn  Chevalon; his step-son, Jacob Bariola; brother, Dickey Chevalon; and step-brothers, Douglas Baudoin and Michael Baudoin.

In addition to his immediate family, Tracey leaves behind a multitude of loving friends whose lives were enriched by his presence. Their memories of shared laughter and special moments will remain forever imprinted in their hearts.

As we bid farewell to Tracey James Chevalon, let us remember him for the love he shared with his family and friends. May his kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace. Tracey's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
