Wade Joseph Cormier, age 15, was born on June 24th, 2008, in Opelousas, Louisiana.  With a heart filled with kindness and compassion, Wade touched the lives of those around him in profound ways. It is with heavy hearts that we mourn his loss.   He passed away on February 7th, 2024, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Visitation for Wade will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, in the Bayou Jacque Church of Christ in Plaucheville, Louisiana beginning at 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 2:00 PM.

Wade was truly one of a kind, possessing a wit that could light up any room. His extraordinary intelligence and vast knowledge of obscure facts kept everyone entertained.

He loved the outdoors and had a nurturing spirit that radiated towards all living creatures.  Wade enjoyed cooking and baking where he expressed his boundless creativity.

Music held a special place in Wade's heart and he loved playing his guitar.

Wade is survived by his loving parents, Joshua and Katie Cormier, along with his brother, Colt Cormier. In addition, Wade is mourned by his paternal grandfather, Sidney Cormier, and his maternal grandfathers, Jeffery Marks and Larry Matte.  He is also survived by his Uncle David Tate and wife, Brittany, his Uncle Logan Farrow and his wife, Lindsey, his Aunt Jessica Rabalais and her husband, Nathan, and many cherished cousins. Their bond was one built on love, laughter, and cherished moments together.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Cathy Fruge, and his maternal grandmother, Rebecca Matte.

In celebrating Wade's life, let us remember him not for the tears we shed but for the laughter shared. Let us honor his memory by embodying the kindness he displayed every day. May his genuine warmth and unwavering compassion continue to inspire us all.
