Wanda Jane Sheets was born on June 8, 1949, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to William and Gladys Edith Pettit. Wanda passed from this life on December 12, 2023, in her home in Paoli, Oklahoma, surrounded by those who loved her.
Growing up Wanda was spoiled rotten; she was known to have gotten anything she wanted. Wanda enjoyed skating and eventually passed her own skates down to her daughter Amy to eventually use at the same skating rink she used to go to. Wanda attended LPN school at Kennesaw State University in Georgia and West Carol Technical College. During her career Wanda worked as a caregiver and eventually worked her way up to that LPN position at Jay Michael Morrows Nursing Home and she worked there until her retirement in 2019. After retirement Wanda loved to sing karaoke, play bingo, to go to Panama City Beach in Florida, travel, crochet, and she loved attending her large family reunions for her side of the family.
The most important thing to Wanda besides her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, was her poodle, Taffy. Wanda will be missed by so many.
Wanda is survived by her sons, Robert Eugene Sheets III and wife, Janette of Paoli, Oklahoma; daughters, Amy Matias and husband Demetrio of Paoli, Oklahoma; Wendy Rene Porche of Port Barre, Louisiana; and Tina Gates and husband, Gary of Krotz Springs, Louisiana; grandchildren: Dean Edward and wife, Natalie; Jessica and husband, Jay; Dillon and wife, Hannah; Janie and husband, Reggie; Amanda Hill, Thomas Ivey, John King, Jared and fiancé, Nikki; Chelsea Hurley, Brandy, and Nicole and fiancé, David Chait; and great-grandchildren: Justin, Austin, Haylon, Lilyanna, Lylah, Amari, Annalise, Electra, Elizabeth, Gregory, Layla, Hailey, Colton, Jacob, Alexia, Horacio, and Ezra.
