Wilbur Reed, Jr.

Opelousas - Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. The Reverend Monsignor Russell Harrington will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Wilbur V. Reed, Jr., age 66 and a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at his residence.

Wilbur enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a man of many actions, but never a man for the spotlight. Wilbur will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Ann Meche Reed; sons, Jerry Vincent Reed, Dion Blaine Lanclos and his wife, Paula and Joseph Raymond Lanclos, Jr.; daughters, Clara Ann Reed Langlois and her husband, Jewel, Jr., Angela Lanclos Fesser and her husband, Michael, Carol Lynn Lanclos Shipman and her husband, Robert and Carla Lanclos Marks and her husband, Spencer; sisters, Rita David, Evelyn Chustz, Beverly Vige, Connie Reed, Anita Barron and Joan Vidrine; brother, Henry Reed; grandchildren, Dalton, Anisa, Drena, Mia, Katelyn, Charlotte, Dyson, Luke, Cole, Grace, Teddy, Nathan, Abigail, Corbin, Rainey, Amber, Carla and Jack; and great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Aydon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur V. Reed, Sr. and Alice Goings Reed.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening by Deacon Dwayne Joubert. Visitation will resume on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
