Winton Lafleur

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde with the interment in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Picard will conduct the services.

Mr. Lafleur, age 90, a resident of Prairie Ronde, passed away Thursday, morning May 14, 2009 at 9:26AM in Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, La.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was a member of the Woodman of the World, was in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Foreign Wars. When his mother passed away, Winton was raised by his grandmother.

Mr. Lafleur is survived by his wife; Willie Mae Boudreaux Lafleur of Prairie Ronde, 2 sons; Dwane Ashton Lafleur and Cade Paul Lafleur both of Lawtell, a brother; Jack Lafleur of Pensylvania and his grandchildren; Cade, Simone, Amanda, Dwane D.J. Lafleur Jr., Seth and Kerry. He is also surved by 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Cade and Irene Ledoux Lafleur and his sister; Dorothy Chance.

The family has requested that visitation will be observed on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
