Yvonne Mornhinveg

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Yvonne L. Mornhinveg at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in the Skip Montet Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Burial will be held at the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Brother Benny Reppond will conduct the service.

Mrs. Mornhinveg, age 90, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Yvonne taught adult education at T.H. Harris. She was a Senior Companion volunteer for many years and loved to be of service to those in need. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Yvonne will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Mornhinveg, David Mornhinveg, Michael Mornhinveg and wife, Nicole; her daughter, Catherine Deupree and husband, Charles and her sister, Loretta Latiolais Lejeune and husband, Henry. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Amber Vallot and husband, Christopher, Jamie Landry and Brandon Melancon, Marco Zurita and wife, Courtney, Justin Booth, Owen Mornhinveg, Katie Marie Mornhinveg, Peyton Mornhinveg, Megan Mornhinveg and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver B. Mornhinveg; her parents, Marion and Hester Prudhomme Latiolais and her brother, Joseph Latiolais.

Visitation will be held at the Skip Montet Chapel of Opelousas on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
