Opelousas - Funeral services for Allen "Bubba" Muir Penick, Jr. will be held, at the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  Burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Regina Hickman will officiate the services.

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that due to complications from Covid, Allen "Bubba" Penick, Jr. passed away at the age of 64 on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center. He was an active member of the LA Memorial United Methodist Church in Opelousas, and heavily involved with the Methodist Cursillo Movement until death. He led many medical mission teams for seven years and could repair absolutely anything that needed fixing. He loved playing Santa Clause for the residence at Prompt Succor Nursing Home where he worked for 28 years. He was an avid LSU sports fan and an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.  He enjoyed being outdoors while hunting, fishing, cooking, playing golf, and flower gardening.  His greatest pastime was spending time with his wife, son, and pup Odie. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He worked as a nurse for many years and had various departments he worked in such as Quality Control, Inflectional Control, and Safety. He also was the Environmental Services Director with Encompass Maintenance, housekeeping Laundry Service for entire campus of Prompt Succor Nursing Home, C'est la Vie, and the Convent.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sue Vidrine Penick of Opelousas; his son, Joseph "BJ" Penick of Houston; his mother, Bobbie Penick of Opelousas; his brother, Bill Penick and wife Deanie of Opelousas; sister, Anne McKinney of Opelousas, and one grandchild, Nathaniel "Nate" Penick.

He was preceded in death by father, Allen M. Penick, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Joseph "BJ" Penick, Bill Penick, Troy Penick, Mike McKinney, Don Williams, and T- Boy Carriere.

Due to Covid, a public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
