Joyce Marie Courville

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Joyce Marie (Duhon) Courville at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.  Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Greg Gaspard will conduct the funeral service.

Visitation will be held in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, March 14, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce Marie (Duhon) Courville, age 87, on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Joyce loved being around her family and friends.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and shopping.  Joyce also enjoyed being outdoors tending to her garden.  She always felt that helping others was so very important.  Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Fredrick Courville, Louis Courville and Phil Courville, Jr. and wife, Karen; her daughters, Evana Lynn Savoie & husband, Karl, Mechelle Stelly and husband, Joey and her sister, Eula Mae Lejeune.  She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Monica Stryzewski, Brandon Corona, Jennifer Pitre, Jamie Lyons, Bobbie Jo Courville, Steven Courville, Heather Courville Lambert, Megan Stelly, Cameron Stelly and eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Sophia, Aiden, Makala, Sarah, Bailey and Zane.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Courville; her parents, Miguel and Doris Johnson Duhon; her brothers, Kirby Duhon, George Duhon and Leroy Duhon; her sisters, Lilly Mae Ardoin and Jane Fontenot; her great-grandchildren, Gabriel Prudhomme and Camille Lambert; and her daughter-in-law, Earline Leger Courville.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Stryzewski, Caleb Stryzewski, Albert Lambert, Joey Stelly, Thomas Stoot and Bailey Prudhomme.
