Kerisa Lee Meyers Shaw

Melville-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kerisa Lee Meyers Shaw announces her death on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

The family will receive guests at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until service at 1:00 p.m. which will be held in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Melville Baptist Cemetery. Pastor Aaron Claiborne will officiate the services.

Kerisa was not only a wonderful mother, grandmother and daughter; she was the life of the party. She was someone who was extremely outgoing, caring and if someone was in need, she was there to give a helping hand. She would give you the shirt off of her back if needed. Kerisa's family meant the world to her, especially her beautiful grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

As everyone will see below, Kerisa always had special nicknames for those she cared for deeply.

Her survivors include her mother, Adonna "Tootie" Dickson Meyers; sons, Preston Shaw and Devin Shaw; daughters, Sheena "Lucy" Shaw and Marcus "Pretty Boy Floyd" Davenport Sr. and Erin "Beanie" Meyers and Juan "Coolio" Guillory; her cherished grandchildren, Ma'Kyla Davenport, Malaya Davenport, Mariel Davenport, Marcus Davenport Jr., Adrian Meyers and soon to be arriving, Aubri' Lee. She is also survived by her companion, Nathaniel Carey; and her dear friend who was like a sister, Kristy Carey.

Kerisa is preceded in death by her father, Gary Wayne Meyers, Sr. and her brother, Gary Wayne Meyers, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Preston Shaw, Juan Guillory, Derrick Shaw, Marcus Davenport, Sr. and Brent LaHaye.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Dukes, Devin Shaw, Gary Wayne Meyers, Sr. and Gary Wayne Meyers, Jr.
