Marshall Dupre

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Marshall “Glenn” Dupre at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas.  The Very Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal and interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Visitation will begin on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  A Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 p.m.

Marshall Glenn Dupre, 79 died on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings, LA. Captain Dupre was a Physician Assistant-Certified.  He served his country for 26 years and retired as a Captain in the USAF.  He worked at the Veteran Administration Hospital. He also worked for Dr. Brent Prather, The Family Clinic and Dupre Family Medicine in Opelousas, LA.

He loved hunting, fishing, and camping.  He was a winemaker and grew his own grapes, blackberries and blueberries.  He liked to “can” fruit and vegetables, a trait from his mother.

Captain Dupre was a graduate of Washington High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Medicine from the University of Nebraska. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church.  He was a Eucharistic Minister and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus during his military career.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Gloria Fusilier Dupre, a native of Ville Platte and resident of Opelousas; a daughter, Catherine Myers and husband, Jeffery, of Opelousas, La.; a son, Dr. Michael D. Dupre and wife, Beth, of Pell City, Alabama and a daughter, Jennifer L. Dupre and husband, Keith Alleman, of Duson, La.;  three grandchildren, Kasey Spencer Dunn, Celine and Blaize Dupre'; a sister, Frances Webber and husband, Earl, of Lafayette, La; two brothers, Ronald Dupre and wife, Theresa and Martin Dupre of Opelousas.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert J. Dupre and mother, Mabress Doucet; his brother James Roy Dupre and his sister, Melrose Parker.
