Mildred Marie Morain Ledoux

Washington – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 for Mildred Marie Morain LeDoux at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington.  Reverend Father Matthew Higginbotham will officiate the Mass.  Rite of Committal will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Palmetto, LA.

Ms. LeDoux, age 86, a resident of Washington, LA, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Opelousas General Health System.

Mildred was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington and a member of the Ladies Altar Society of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Palmetto and enjoyed helping at the church dinners.  She volunteered at Tri-Community Nursing Home and was an avid Pokeno player in several groups.  Mildred was the best grandmother and great-grandmother in the world and her greatest joy was taking care of them.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Murphy J. LeDoux, Jr. and wife, Kim Hebert LeDoux of Washington, LA; her daughter, Gwen LeDoux Mayhall and husband, Louis Gregory Mayhall of Big Cane, LA; her son-in-law, George Macip of Palmetto, LA; her sisters, Anna Lee Morain Buschel and Betty Jane Morain Stelly both of Waxia, LA.   She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Lynn August, Jr., Christopher Macip, Kevin Macip, Seth Mayhall, Sheree Mayhall, Kaitlyn Mayhall Duplechain, Evan LeDoux and Mary Grace LeDoux and eight great-grandchildren, Alyce McCroskey, Lily Bourque, Hayden Mayhall, Layla Mayhall, Cullen Mayhall, Audrey Duplechain, Blythe August and Blair August.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy J. LeDoux, Sr.; her parents, Charles Morain and Hilda LeBlanc Morain; her daughters, Patricia LeDoux August and Rita Gail Macip; her sister, Shirley Wyble and her brother, Patrick Morain.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Skip Montet Chapel at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM by Reverend Father Austin Leger.  Visitation will continue on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Macip, Kevin Macip, Lynn August, Jr., Evan LeDoux, Seth Mayhall and Louis Gregory Mayhall.  Honorary pallbearer will be Cullen Mayhall.
