Opelousas - Funeral services for Nancy Guidry Quebedeaux will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, La. Pastor Bud Plake, from the Crossroads Church, will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Michael Guidry, Gene Guidry, Thomas Guidry, Adam Quebedeaux, Caleb Quebedeaux and Justin Carrol. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Quebedeaux, William Carline and Duard Franklin.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Nancy Guidry Quebedeaux, age 63, on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La.
Nancy was an original member of the "The Cooking Cousins", a local competition cooking team, that for many years participated in cook-off competitions winning multiple awards. She was well known for her award-winning delicious chili. Nancy had a true love for animals. She would have taken in every stray animal if she could. Nancy will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dorsey Quebedeaux, Jr.; her mother, Rena G. Guidry of Lafayette, La.; her mother-in-law, Mavis Quebedeaux; her brothers, Michael T. Guidry (Lori) of Austin, TX, Gene E. Guidry (Theresa) of Breaux Bridge, La.; her sisters, Kathy G. Franklin (Duard) of Houston, TX, Lynn G. Carline (William) of Lafayette, La.; her brother-in-law, Nathan Quebedeaux (Stephanie) of Opelousas, La.; her sister-in-law, Cynthia Ortego of Carencro, La.; her nephews, Thomas J. Guidry, Connor J. Guidry, Adam Quebedeaux, Caleb Quebedeaux and her nieces, Kristie C. Tatford, Emily C. Miller, Libby F. Koepke, Courtney G. Lasseigne, Lily Quebedeaux, Kelly Spurgeon (Ryan) and Heather Ortego.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas D. Guidry, Jr.; her father-in-law, Dorsey Quebedeaux, Sr.; her maternal grandparents, Edney and Laby D. Guidry and her paternal grandparents, Thomas D., Sr. and Therese A. Guidry.
