Opelousas - Private services for Paul A. C. Bellard will be held for the immediate family only.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul A. C. Bellard, known to many as “A.C.” on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center at the age of 86. He was a native of Lewisburg and a longtime resident of Opelousas.  He was the owner and operator of Bellard’s Poultry, Targil Seasoning, and Mama’s Fried Chicken.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Opelousas, Knights of Columbus Council #3409, and a Board member of St. Landry Homestead.  He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Joyce Schexneider Bellard; two sons: Tim Bellard and wife, Lorraine; and Ted Bellard and wife, Melanie; two daughters, Connie Stelly and husband, Danny; and Arlene Fisher and husband, Don; all of Opelousas; stepchildren: Paul Durio and Jeff Durio, both of Oberlin; Katrena Tankersley of Opelousas; and Sabrena Oestriecher of Lake Charles; three brothers: Leroy Bellard of Hayes; Harry Bellard of Eunice; and Ronald Bellard of Opelousas; grandchildren: Jeremy Guidry, Amy Oakes, Kristin Cooley, Ryan Lagrange, Betsy Bellard Plouhar, Shelby Bellard Kerner, Wesley Bellard, and Jade Bellard; 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Jane Lanclos Bellard; and his brothers: Ashton Bellard, Calvin Bellard, and Rodney Bellard.

Pallbearers will be Tim Bellard, Ted Bellard, Ryan Lagrange, Jeremy Guidry, Drake Guidry, Ryan Lagrange, and Danny Stelly.
