Sandi Nolan

August 8, 1984 — July 2, 2021

Krotz Springs - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. for Sandi Rachel Nolan on Monday, July 5, 2021, in the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, La.  Father Michael DeBlanc will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sandi Rachel Nolan on Friday, July 2, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Sandi was native of Krotz Springs and a 2002 graduate of Port Barre High School. During her years as a Port Barre Lady Devil, Sandi was a star catcher and pitcher of the softball team, which she led to victory in the 2000 State Championship.  She was a 2011 graduate of T.H. Harris in medical coding and billing.

Of all her life’s work, her three boys Cort, Zack and her husband Nickolas were her greatest achievements and loves of her life.  Being a mother provided Sandi a purpose for living, as witnessed through her courageous battle with glioblastoma.

Sandi was best known as the life of the party, lived up to the phrase “blondes have more fun” and truly was one of a kind. Despite her less than perfect vocals, she was a singer at heart. Sandi loved to karaoke or serenade any audience when given the opportunity.  She continued laughing and cracking jokes in spite of life’s many challenges, even after being diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer. Her big blue eyes, infectious laugh and larger than life personality always lit up the room. Life with Sandi was nothing short of an exceptional time and a memorable adventure—no matter the circumstances. She was passionate about caring for those she loved and did so wholeheartedly.  A phrase she lived by, strived to achieve and instill in her sons was to do good by others, as it will come back to you at some juncture in life.  Sandi always faced adversity and challenge with extraordinary faith, strength beyond measure, an incredible sense of humor, a kind heart and a giving soul.  She had a genuine zest for life and all it had to bring, which was contagious when in her presence. To know Sandi was to love her, whether it was for 5 minutes or an entire lifetime. Though Sandi will be sorely missed by all, the imprints she made upon the lives she touched will live on forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Nickolas Jude Stelly of Port Barre, La.; her parents, Harry Nolan and Cindy Williams Nolan of Krotz Springs, La.; her paternal grandmother, Norma LeBlanc of Krotz Springs, La.; her sons, Cort Michael Nolan and Zachary Jude Stelly both of Port Barre, La.; her sister, Cassie Nolan of Erwinville, La.; her brother, Jake Nolan of Krotz Springs, La.; her mother-in-law, Clothilde Stelly of Palmetto, La. her niece, Mayah Nolan and her nephews, Tristin Barker, Kadin Barker and Karter Barker.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Denny and Lois Williams; her paternal grandparents, Joseph "Nookie" LeBlanc, David "Dave" Nolan, Sr. and paternal great-grandparents, Mervin and Hattie Valin and her Godmother, Darlene Martin Williams.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Acadiana, Mrs. Joan, Ms. Laura and all of Sandi’s “tribe” that “just kept swimming.”

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 4, 2021 in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs beginning at 1:00 p.m. until funeral time.  A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening by Father Michael DeBlanc.

Pallbearers will be Ray Briley, Kasey Vienne, Cody Clark, Raymond "Little Rocko" Naquin, Jr., Chris Williams and Kevin Williams.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tristin Barker and Kadin Barker.

In lieu of flowers, Sandi requests donations be made to brain cancer research and/or the American Heart Association.
