Ulysse Johnfroe

Krotz Springs - Funeral services will be held for Mr. Ulysse Anthony Johnfroe at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs, La.  Brother Allen Meyers will conduct the service.  Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ulysse Anthony Johnfroe, age 81, on Sunday, October 24, 2021.  He died peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Ulysse began working on boats when he was seven years old.  He was a boat captain for the next 61 years. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs.  Ulysse loved being outdoors, boating, fishing, shrimping, and working in his shop.  He loved surrounding himself with his family and friends.  Ulysse will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by wife of 32 years, Karen Roberson Johnfroe; his sons, Ulysse J. Johnfroe (J-Boy), Johnny Johnfroe and wife, Vickie, Ken Johnfroe and his wife, Tracey, Timothy Johnfroe and wife, Grace, and Michael Ackley; his daughters, Janice St. Pierre, Heather Barker and husband Travis and Heidi Ackley and his sister, Sedonia J. Duet.  He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Blake Johnfroe, Ryan Johnfroe, Artie St. Pierre, Joseph Johnfroe, Amber Johnfroe, Thomas Johnfroe, Arielle Barker, Wyatt Barker, Earl Atkins, Jr., Makayla Atkins, Mikah Ackley, Seth Johnfroe, fifteen great-grandchildren, Carson Johnfroe, Brittany Ledet, Rileigh Johnfroe, Ember Johnfroe, Jax Johnfroe, Bradley Babin, Dakota St. Pierre, Gabriel St. Pierre, Morgan St. Pierre, Freya Johnfroe, Roselynn Bustamante, Juliana Bustamante, Alize Bustamante, Jose Bustamante, Nola Ardoin and six great-great grandchildren, Rowen, Jaxon, Braxton, Bryson, Kyng and Junior.  He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludwig Johnfroe and Donatille Guidry Johnfroe; his son, Shane Johnfroe; his son-in-law, Emray "Tut" St. Pierre and his siblings, Letucia J. Adams, Citolia J. Duet, Eunice Johnfroe, Lillian J. Terrabone, Beatrice J. Duet and Calvin J. Johnfroe.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs.  Visitation will continue Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Wyatt Barker, Artie St. Pierre, Joseph Johnfroe, Ken Johnfroe, Michael Ackley, Earl Atkins, Jr., Johnny Johnfroe and Ryan Johnfroe.  Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Barker, Jose Bustamante Jr. and Gabriel St. Pierre.
