Melville – Funeral services for Vernice Ledoux Deville will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, in the First Pentecostal Church of Melville.  Visitation will be held on Thursday in the church from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m.  Reverend England will conduct the service.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the First Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Melville.

Pallbearers will be Colton Deville, Aiden Deville, Phillip Duval, Tyler Lisenby, Kian Menard, Joseph Bourque, and Shane Sheldon.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vernice Ledoux Deville, age 87, on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Tri-Community Nursing Home in Palmetto.

Vernice loved cooking and baking.  She was known for her noodle salad and pecan pie.  She also was a wonderful seamstress.  She enjoyed making dresses for all the girls in her family.  She enjoyed crocheting and made beautiful doilies that she gave as gifts for family and friends.  Vernice’s faith was very important to her.  She was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Melville for over 70 years.  Vernice loved her family with her whole heart, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Dale Deville and his wife, Maria; her daughters, Julia Deville and Rita Lisenby; her brothers, Daniel Boudreaux and Gilbert Boudreaux and his wife, Myrtis; her sister, Maxine Fontenot; her grandchildren, Misty Aymond and her husband, Shane, Herschel Lisenby and his wife, Deana, Jalacie Lisenby, Rustin Deville and his wife, Tonya and Ryan Deville and his wife, Hillary; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Ledoux and Emalaide Schnexayder; her spouse, J.D. Deville; her siblings, Stella Landerneaux, Louis Boudreaux, Geneus Boudreaux, Lillian Fontenot, Louisiana Goudeau, Houston Boudreaux, Austin Boudreaux, Ezen Landerno, Simon Boudreaux, Wallace Boudreaux, Vernon Ledoux, Wesley Ledoux and Geraldine Spinner; her sons-in-law, Earnest Lisenby and Donald Vaughn and her infant son, Ronald Deville.
